Kids Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MMA

Age-appropriate training designed to strengthen confidence, focus, coordination, social skills, and practical self-defense.

Kids BJJ (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu) is a grappling/wrestling Martial Art that revolves around the concept that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend themselves against a bigger, stronger, heavier opponent by using leverage and weight distribution, taking the fight to the ground and using a number of positional holds and joint locks (submissions) to defeat them. BJJ training can be used for sport grappling and in self-defence situations. Sparring, commonly referred to as rolling within the BJJ community, and live drilling plays a major role in training and the practitioner's development. BJJ can also be used as a method of promoting physical fitness, building character, and as a way of life. Jiu-Jitsu is one of very few martial arts that are called “alive.” This means that the art requires its participants to actually make the techniques work on a resistant opponent. That resistance, that possibility of failure being confronted on a daily basis leads to a greater level of confidence. The child will be taught the fundamentals of safely defending themselves by use of proper positional controls in a safe environment closely watched by instructors with over 30 years of experience in multiple disciplines and the expertise of being the most effective coaches in the area. As they grow in their knowledge they will level up in a ranking system that helps provide motivation and a sense of direction to set goals for long term and short term productivity and health.

Kids Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) is a full-contact combat sport based on two main areas of making what is referred to as “a well-rounded Martial Artist.” Area one is often referred to as “Striking Arts,” which includes things such as Boxing, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Tae Kwon Do, Karate, and many more styles dealing with punching and kicking techniques. The second area is “Grappling,” which is known for incorporating techniques from various combat sports and martial arts like Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Russian Sambo, Greco-Roman Wrestling, Freestyle Wrestling, Mongolian Wrestling, Judo, and many more from around the world. The curriculum provided will show an effective, fun, and safe way of helping your child understand the information as well as be able to perform the content shown. This class is unique in that with our multiple years of experience we have found a fast-track way of teaching that also provides a similar ranking system to our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Program that will keep your child interested for many years as well as provide an outlet for energy release, a build in confidence, and the ability to help children think critically for themselves.
